Photo Classes
In the past I have offered photography classes for adults and another class for youth. Some of the teachings included, depth of field, proximity, posing, etc. If this sounds interesting for your or your child, please comment to me and let me know what you would like to learn so I can better suit your needs!! These classes are always loads of fun and I can't wait to get another one started. Can't wait to hear you ideas. Sara

The Beginning
Hello, I'm Sara Hennen, Artist and Owner of SH Photography. Our studio is just outside of Pierz, Minnesota. Within 10 minutes of Pierz, Little Falls, Royalton and less than a half an hour from St. Cloud and Brainerd.
I love capturing images of living things!! Mostly High School Seniors and Families. And with that remember the babies, pregnant tummies, and pets. I do weddings on request, and am in the process on hiring a second wedding photographer. There is a lot to capture at a wedding and that is a little tougher with only one person behind the camera. You are the best, and the best deserves nothing but the absolute best. (call early to see if your date is available)
I am naturally a very original person, and that comes out in my photographs. Unless requested I do not use an outside background that is the same as any other I have used on a Family or High School Senior.
To get me started I will give you a brief background so you can get to know me better. I was born in Little Falls, but spent most of my youth in Port Angeles, Wa. I have enjoyed posing people and taking pictures for as long as I can remember. As life enfolded it blessed for me, a wonderful, loving husband (of over 13 years) and four glorious children, that have opened my heart in more ways than imagined possible. Identical girls, age 14, and two sons 9 and 6, respectfully.
What really transitioned me was education so that I may call myself a Professional Photographer and Artist. I started out taking the yearly school pictures for my daughters before my boys were born. I was tired of the school photographers leaving that obvious hair smack in the middle of their eyes, and the unflattering poses, that had about as much creativity as...well I don't know what. Need I go on. When I learned that even if I do not order the school pictures and take my own for them to hand-out, the school will still take the pictures for their records and file. I can even send my children's pictures to the school and they will place my image in the yearbook. (and yearly SH Photography has a School Daze Special that will entitle you to the same benefits!-message me for more details) So it was a win/win situation for me.
After doing this for a few years I soon realized that I have a passion for people. I wanted to know everything and anything to create beautiful, classic, original images. I decided to take a few college courses, and little did I know that I would walk out of college with a full Photographic and Imaging DEGREE, and a Framing and Matting CERTIFICATE. Full time school was trying at times, with driving two hours every school day, to and from. And family on top of that! But it is a great achievement that I am happy to say that I can check off of the many goals on my life list!
To stay the best, most educated possible, I am continuously taking classes and seminars, as well as going to conventions to stay on top of the always changing and growing techniques of the photographic industry. I don't know who could pass for being a professional without constantly re-educating one's self. Self improvement is key in any great profession!
This blog is a way for me to share with you my experience, knowledge and answer some of the questions I have been asked over the years, as well as hopefully learn a few things. Like what you want from me as your professional photographer. The topics, poses and styles that you all like, so they can be incorporated into my art.
I will start a random, starting point subject, but if you want to stray, or ask a completely different question, or have a comment, I welcome any and all.
I am excited... Here it is the beginning of a wonderful relationship. I look forward to hearing from you.
